Prototype teething issues notwithstanding, the PAM 682 really nails the details for a quality and fun niche model from Panerai. With sapphire crystals both front and back, 300m water resistance, and the Luminor’s signature lever crown guard, the 42mm Submersible covers all the Panerai bases. With PAM 359, you get all the classic Panerai features: the small seconds, large indices, and that crown guard. But that's not all there is to PAM 359! With the faux patina on its indices and hands set against the black dial, it guides . The flat sapphire of the 359 is great. The 359 is also unique (so far) in that it has the polished 1950 case and the aged lume, though obviously that is changing with this year's releases where every damn watch seems to be getting the "dirty" lume treatment.
